The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is very pleased to present the 'fairwell voyage' of our traveling exhibition, ‘Max/Amos: a tale of two paradises’, in Exuma. Featuring Bahamian master artists Maxwell Taylor and Amos Ferguson from the National Collection, this exhibition delves into the various aspects of Bahamian society and culture in relation to our global recognition as a paradise nation. Both Taylor and Ferguson get to the heart of Bahamian experience with a blunt honesty and sense of integrity to themselves as artists and Bahamians.
It seems fitting to send off this exhibition in Exuma, the birthplace of Amos Ferguson, and acts as a bit of a homecoming for his work. Please join us at the Wenshua Gallery in George Town, Exuma from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for the opening of our last showing of this particular outreach exhibition - don't worry, there will be more to come!
