We have a dynamic range of offerings that provide meaningful encounters with the gallery's collections, community outreach programmes and exhibitions. Programming designed by age group allows us to provide hands-on experiences at the gallery, in the classroom and throughout the wider community. The NAGB education programme utilizes artwork from the National Collection and private collections as a foundation for learning.
Through the NAGB education programme, learners have access to children's workshops, like ARTernoons (for children ages five to 12); seasonal events, like Easter egg hunts, Halloween parties and the NAGB Mixed Media Summer Camp; and workshops for high school and college students as well as art educators.
The NAGB Mixed Media Summer Camp is a particularly important component of the education programme. It is designed to expose campers—ages seven to 18—to different art forms, encourage the development of artistic skills and educate young people about Bahamian art history.
