Thierry Lamare is a French transplant, having lived and worked in The Bahamas for the last 20 years and devoting his passion and art practice to depicting out island life in a way that is sensitive and heartfelt. His subjects are life-long friends, and the love, life and loss of these friends is chronicled in his work, particularly his devotion to "mothers" Joyce and Ophelia of Long Island. This retrospective catalogue is a preservation of history but also of memories from loved ones. Curated by NAGB Chief Curator Holly Bynoe.
