On Thursday, December 7th, at 7 p.m. the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas takes a cinematic trip to the gritty public housing projects of Essex in the East of England. “ ish Tank," directed by Andrea Arnold, is a film of uncompromising intensity. The movie follows a troubled fifteen-year-old girl, Mia, in her attempts to navigate her life while being brought up in a hostile environment. It’s a film that rages with anger as we watch a young girl struggling with her emerging womanhood and fierce desire to escape her bleak lot in life.
The language in the film is very strong and is rated R. We will have popcorn on hand for sale. NOTE: If it rains we will host the screening inside the gallery space. Come out and spend this wonderful fall evening with us.
