This September the NAGB continues to engage enthusiastic young people through our Junior Arts Council (JAC). JAC is for high school students who want to have lots of creative fun with kids just like them and make a difference in the community!
Junior Arts Council began at the NAGB in Spring of 2018 as a way to deepen existing relationships with volunteers and summer camp participants, and create other avenues for young people seeking a creative outlet to engage with the museum in meaningful ways. JAC members work together to complete artistic and community oriented projects at the museum and within the surrounding community, under the guidance of the NAGB's Education team.
We have an amazing fall planned with lots of activities and team projects that will allow JAC members to leave their mark on the NAGB the community in special ways. These include mural projects, opportunities to volunteer at NAGB events and a students conceived gardening project that is all about giving to the community!
JAC meets every Monday and Wednesday, 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. To register your child contact Katrina Cartwright at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 328-5800. JAC begins Monday, September 10th at 3:30 p.m.
