John Cox has helped define the contemporary Bahamian art scene locally through his work and the creation of Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Arts. He has been an important figure in the lives of many up-and-coming Bahamian artists.
“I’m interested in empowering people… I don’t really think that one person ever really teaches one other person anything – I think we all really know what we all need to know and teaching is just creating alignments and opening vents for knowledge to come out.”
John will be doing a series of drawing classes at The Island House. The sessions focus on drawing a live model from direct observation. Past experience is not necessary, and all levels are welcome – John will tailor to your comfort zone.
Classes will start on Wednesday July 20th, and will continue each Wednesday going forward between 6pm & 8pm. A package of 4 classes, (which can be used within an 8 week period) costs $300. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 698.6300 to reserve your space.
