Tonight’s Blank Canvas is all about partnerships and the positive, far reaching impact collaborations can have on communities. Guest host Katrina Cartwright, NAGB Education and Outreach Manager, is joined by two representatives from Popeyes, Brand Manager Vashti Simmons and Marketing Manager AnnMarie Romer, for the first segment and for the latter segments, Matthew Rahming, Curatorial Assistant at the NAGB.
This year, Popeyes has come on as a sponsor for the NAGB’s annual Easter ARTernoon, “Egg Mania”, an event that includes an Easter egg hunt and fun art and craft activities. The NAGB’s ARTernoons are just for kids and give children the opportunity to create and have fun in a safe, clean, creative environment. Simmons and Romer speak to Popeyes decision to support the NAGB in this initiative and discuss the importance of businesses choosing to be good corporate citizens. “Egg Mania” is being held at the NAGB this Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To learn more and register your child visit https://nagb.org.bs/events/2019/4/20/nagbs-easter-arternoon-egg-mania.
In the final two segments Rahming speaks to his experiences in Grand Bahama during the recent Inter-Island Travelling Exhibition, which is currently on display at the Rand Nature Centre in Freeport. This was his first time travelling with the Education department to install the show and administer programming around the exhibition—he discusses lessons learned, relationships forged and the many surprises that are part and parcel of initiatives like the travelling exhibition.
