Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
A BBC America comic science fiction television series, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency centers on the titular holistic detective who investigates cases involving the supernatural. Based on the “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” novel series, written by Douglas Adams and published by Simon and Schuster in 1987. The eccentric Dirk Gently who claims to be a “holistic detective”, investigates obscure cases based on the inter-connectivity of all things. During the first season he befriends Todd Brotzman and Farah Black who help him with his cases.
This funny, sometimes violent TV series feeds my love of the wierd and quirky and is definitely a series I will watch again. It also delves into the psyche of it’s characters and explores how situations and opportunities can enhance humanity’s best and worst personality traits.
