Open Call: Bologna Contemporary Art Fair

The Municipality of Bologna, IncrediBOL! project and Bologna UNESCO Creative City of Music share the open call for galleries and works for the upcoming SetUp Contemporary Art Fair in Bologna, Italy. As Nassau is a UNESCO Creative City of Craft, galleries in the capital are eligible to apply for the art fair. See the call below:

Come to Bologna for SetUp Contemporary Art Fair!

Bologna, Italy, part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a city of music, invites all the other UNESCO Creative Cities of the Network to present one or more art galleries , to be hosted inside ‘SetUp Contemporary Art Fair’ 2017, a peculiar and independent art fair in the unusual space of the city bus station, which focuses the attention on emerging artists and takes place in the same period of the exhibition “ArteFiera International exhibition of modern and contemporary Italian art”, from January 27th to January 29th 2017.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network, in fact, promotes the cooperation among cities, developing cross-cutting projects and establishing synergies between creative fields, at local and international level.

What we look for
Bologna, as a follow-up of ‘Creative SpIN – Creative Spillovers for Innovation’ project, invites all the other UNESCO Creative Cities of the Network to present one or more art galleries that deal with the topic of SetUp2017 edition:
To dare Is to lose one’s footing momentarily. Not to dare is to lose oneself
involving at least one artist and one curator under 35.

What we offer
– A 37 square meter booth within SetUp Contemporary Art Fair
– Promotion, communication and networking opportunities
– Some additional basic services (to be agreed)

No percentage on the sales will be charged.

Participants are required to cover travel and accommodation costs and to attend the whole period of the Fair, including the setting-up and dismantling of the booth.

How to apply
Please fill in the attached form, send a text of max. 2 pages with pictures/sketches enclosed, and a short resume including history and exhibitions of the proposed art galleries.
Please highlight the connection with the UNESCO Creative City of origin.
All materials must be in English or Italian. The selection will be made by the curators of the SetUp in collaboration with IncrediBOL! Bologna’s Creative Innovation,  and Bologna UNESCO Creative City of Music.
