Part-Time Lecturer, Art (Ceramic Art)
The Visual and Performing Arts Department is seeking part-time faculty to teach ceramics arts. The ideal candidate will be required to teach ceramic courses, manage the ceramic studio, maintain supplies inventory, prepare students for exhibitions and liaise closely with the Visual Arts Department. Applicants should process a terminal degree in the field, although applicants who possess a bachelor’s degree in Art/Fine Arts, specialising in ceramic art from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years’ professional experience in the specialised field will be considered.
Part-Time Studio Technician, Art
The Visual and Performing Arts Department is seeking a part-time Art Studio Technician. The ideal candidate will manage the daily operations of the studios and instructional areas within the Visual Arts Department including the ceramics studio and facilities and the multi-function art studios. Specific duties include but are not limited to coordinating studio needs and activities that support the curriculum; preparing the studios for use at the beginning of each semester; ensuring effective and safe utilization of the studios during the semester; and coordinating the end of the semester clean up and closing of the studios for winter and summer breaks. The candidate will also manage, maintain, and repair studio tools and equipment; maintain and monitor inventory; establish, monitor and adhere to all safety procedures; coordinate the schedule and organization of the kilns. The position requires a background in studio art and studio management. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independent judgment, exceptional customer service skills and a team oriented positive attitude.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Art or an Art related field and 3 years related full-time experience in a studio setting, with good comprehension of ceramic processes, equipment and studio maintenance.
