Visitor Guidelines

Welcome to the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas! We’re excited to have you here to experience Bahamian art.

To ensure everyone has a wonderful time, please review the following guidelines for your visit. We kindly ask for your help in protecting the artwork on display and the historic building that houses our galleries.

— Do Not Touch: Refrain from touching the artwork or leaning on walls, pedestals, or display cases. Interactive artworks will have clear instructions.  

— Maintain Distance: Keep a safe distance from the artwork to prevent accidental contact.  

— Food and Drinks: No food, beverages, or gum are allowed in the exhibition spaces.  

— Personal Belongings: Store large backpacks, bags, umbrellas, and other bulky items in designated areas or carry them carefully to avoid contact with artwork. Ask a team member for assistance.

— Photography: Personal, non-commercial photography and video recording are allowed, but flash photography and tripods are prohibited. For professional sessions, please contact us here for approval.  

— Sketching: Sketching with pencils is welcome, but pens, markers, and permanent tools are not allowed.  

— Noise Level: Keep voices at a neutral level to respect other visitors.  

— Children: Young visitors (under 12) are welcome but must be supervised at all times.

— Smoking/Vaping: Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited throughout the museum.  

— Additional Instructions: Follow any additional directions provided by team members during your visit.
