On tonight’s Blank Canvas Amanda Coulson, Executive Director, is joined in the studio by two Bahamian artists, both with current solo shows.
Richardo Barrett, who is also Associate Curator at the NAGB, was the winner in 2018 of the Central Bank’s Open Category prize. Part of the prize is also a solo show in the Central Bank art gallery, which is now on show. Entitled “Triangles Squares and Demons: The Bahamas is a real place”. The exhibition has new works by Barrett, comprising transferred line drawings and paintings.
Kachelle Knowles also has a solo show, in the NAGB’s project space entitled “Bahamian man since time”. The artist addresses ideas of content poses masculinity. She will be present for an Open Studio at the NAGB on Saturday October 5th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
