Despite our name, the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is a museum. We collect, preserve, research, and exhibit Bahamian art. The works you see here are not for sale—they are displayed for the public’s enjoyment and education.
The NAGB is a non-profit art museum dedicated to collecting and exhibiting Bahamian visual art from the 19th century to the present. It’s a dynamic space for learning, fun, and discovery. We’re here to educate, uplift, and inspire.
We’re open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. We’re closed every Monday.
Admission ranges from $5–12, depending on category. See full admission details here.
Most visitors spend 1–3 hours, but a minimum of 30 minutes is recommended to enjoy your experience.

Nope, come as you are! We just ask visitors to avoid clothing with strong language or sensitive content out of respect for others.
Yes, guided tours are available for schools, community groups, and private groups. Self-guided tours are also welcome.
Yes, non-flash, non-commercial photography is allowed! Tripods or special equipment are not allowed.
You can disregard any “no photography” signs—they refer to flash. Some works may prohibit photos, but this will be clearly indicated by a label. For all policies, see below.

Yes! We rent our unique venue for select events like weddings, anniversaries, and corporate functions. We do not rent the museum for art exhibitions, political or religious events, and certain private parties. Not sure if your event is eligible? Just ask us, we’re here to help!
Yes! Our Inter-Island Travelling Exhibition (ITE) and partnerships with regional and international museums bring Bahamian art beyond New Providence.
We are not able to offer individual feedback. We encourage you to attend workshops, portfolio reviews, and other professional development events.
There’s no single way to become part of our collection. Our curators and Acquisitions Committee are aware of and consistently engaged with artists, strategically building the collection based on merit, relevance, and research needs. We don’t formally review unsolicited submissions. However, one way to be considered is by participating in our National Exhibition.
