About the museum

NAGB is a contemporary art museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and celebrating Bahamian art.

Through pioneering exhibitions, people-centred programmes, and community partnerships, the NAGB helps shape and advance cultural expression in The Bahamas. Our growing collection of over 500 works invites reflection, discovery, and dialogue around Bahamian identity.

Established in 1996 and officially opened in 2003, the NAGB was the first institution of its kind in the country. Housed in the historic Villa Doyle, the museum is a vital space for cultural preservation, education, and creative exchange. For over 20 years, the NAGB has brought people of all ages together to explore, connect, and engage with art. At its core, the museum exists to educate, uplift, and inspire.
