On tonight’s “NAGB’s Blank Canvas”, we talk with Bahamian artist Mr Antonius Roberts to celebrate 10 years of Hillside House! Hillside House was a reclaimed building on Cumberland Street which, formerly derelict, was transformed into a community hub with a garden, sculptures and an art gallery and studio. Roberts shares his vision with host Amanda Coulson and talks about the transformations that have taken place both on and because of the property, using it as an incubator for young Bahamian talents both in the visual arts but also culinary and musical. Roberts expands how the creative community can use culture to rebuild and memorialise and looks back on 10 years of Hillside.
“Blank Canvas” airs each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM.
