On tonight’s Blank Canvas guest host Katrina Cartwright, NAGB Education and Outreach Manager is joined by TERN (Jodi Minnis, Gallery Manager), The Current at Bahamar (Averia Wright, Curator and John Cox, Creative Director) and mixed media artist Kachelle Knowles.
Both TERN and The Current will be in Miami Monday, November 28th to Saturday, December 3rd, participating in the Untitled Art and Scope art fairs respectively. The conversation focuses on the importance of international art fairs to bringing more visibility to Bahamian artists; the long-term goals of TERN and The Current; and the boost that events like art fairs can give to a country’s tourist economy. Knowles shares her thoughts on being selected to represent The Current at Scope, and her belief that this could herald a major change in the trajectory of her career as an artist.
