On “NAGB’s Blank Canvas,” your guest host Katrina Cartwright, NAGB Education and Outreach Manager, is joined in the studio by Ulrich Voges, Curator at the Central Bank of The Bahamas and Ruthjeana Johnson, a young, upcoming artist who was one of the winners of Central Bank’s Open Category prize in 2020.
Johnson’s winning mural design is currently being painted on the three storey facade of the historic Reinhard Hotel and depicts the journey of this landmark on Baillou Hill Road that was once an important community center and the stage for pivotal moments in Bahamian political history. Voges speaks to the Central Bank’s past and current art competitions and it’s support of the upcoming Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC) Virtual Conference. The bank is raffling three tickets to attend the conference. Enter to win by contacting the NAGB at [email protected] or 328-5800.
“Blank Canvas” airs each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM.
