SUMMER CAMP TEACHER
Status: Part-Time
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 4:00pm

Location: National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB), West & West Hill St, Nassau, The Bahamas
Job Overview
A summer camp teacher is responsible for leading dynamic art activities for children enrolled in the NAGB Mixed Media Art Summer Camp (MMASC).
Job Requirements
- Be punctual; working hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday
 - Lead campers through a variety of art projects, including 2D, 3D, and other special projects based on the provided curriculum guidelines
 - Create and maintain a safe, disciplined, organized, and learner-centered environment for campers
 - Manage art supplies in a sustainable way to minimize waste
 - Monitor and assist with field trips and other special workshops outside of classes
 - Monitor and assist with snack and lunch breaks
 - Be comfortable working outside in a shaded area
 - Be comfortable lifting up to 20lbs on occasion
 - Delegate non-essential tasks to camp counselors
 - Assist with daily clean-up of work areas
 - Complete evaluations of camp counselors at the end of camp
 - Help campers select their best work to be displayed in the end-of-camp exhibition
 - Attend orientation, post-mortem meetings, and other meetings as necessary
 - Report directly to the Community Outreach Officer and Education & Outreach Manager
 - Complete additional duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of teaching experience in a classroom (or similar) setting
