This travelling exhibition was initially conceived as a showcase of Bahamian artistic practice and history for a Cuban audience, presented as part of the Fiesta del Fuego in Santiago de Cuba. The exhibition ultimately found its home at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, where it was presented as a permanent exhibition from 2016–17. From Columbus to Junkanoo traces waves of colonial activity, emancipation, and independence through the work of Bahamian artists, bringing depth and vitality to national historical narratives.
