Thierry Lamare is a French artist who has lived and worked in The Bahamas for the past 20 years, devoting his practice to depicting out island life with sensitivity and heartfelt attention. His subjects are lifelong friends, and the love, life, and loss within these relationships are chronicled in his work, particularly his devotion to the “mothers” Joyce and Ophelia of Long Island. This retrospective catalogue preserves both history and memories from loved ones.
