On this Wednesday’s “Blank Canvas,” we welcome international art critic Seph Rodney, PhD, into the studio. Seph was born in Jamaica and came of age in the Bronx, New York. He is a staff writer and editor for Hyperallergic, writing on contemporary art and related issues. He has also written for CNN Op-ed pages, American Craft Magazine and NBC Universal, and penned catalogue essays for various artists.
Seph visited The Bahamas to see the “NE9” and start to get familiar with the Bahamian art scene, as well as deliver a lecture at the NAGB about the importance of art criticism and art writing, which was attended by artists and students 9and can be head by visiting the NAGB’s Vimeo page). Seph can also be heard on the podcast “The American Age”. His book, The Personalization of the Museum Visit, will be published by Routledge press in June.
