Holiday movies really don’t get better than this 1990 charmer starring the irresistible Macaulay Culkin. The McAllister family is going to Paris for Christmas (lucky them). Only they cross the Atlantic without one very important thing: their 8-year-old, Kevin. Now this boy is either going to have the time of his life or he’s going to be permanently scarred. Guess which one it ends up being? Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are perfectly cast as hapless house breakers outsmarted at every turn by an adorable prankster whose last name should be McGyver not McAllister. And director John Hughes also rewards us with John Candy at his corny best! This is pure entertainment gold for the family at holiday time.
