Blank Canvas: November 20th, 2019, Stan Burnside

The “Blank Canvas” Studio is graced tonight by the great Stan Burnside who joins the NAGB Executive Director, Amanda Coulson, in the studio to talk about his life journey in the arts.

From reminiscing about his early days as a boy in the Fort Fincastle neighbourhood, discovering the visual arts with his younger brother Jackson, moving off to university at U-Penn, working in the Junkanoo shacks, to Jammin’ and beyond. He recounts moments and remembers fellows artists.

He also shares with us the inspiration behind his new body of paintings in his latest solo show, at the Current at Baha Mar, entitled “Conversations with My Father.”

Blank Canvas airs every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk radio 96.9 FM
