Blank Canvas: March 27th, 2019, Allan Jones

On tonight’s Blank Canvas we host Grand Bahamian artist Allan Jones in the studio.

Jones is a self-taught photographer who learned his craft “as a true millennial” from watching videos and researching on the internet. Having tried his hand at many different genres and formats, he focuses on portraits and photojournalism.

In collaboration with Rashad Leamount, Jones is a participating artist in the ninth National Exhibition, “NE9: The Fruit and The Seed”. Together they produced a series of photographic images that speak to the topic of toxic masculinity, with this being the seed that bears the fruit of violence and discrimination.

Blank Canvas airs every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk radio, 96.9 FM.
