Blank Canvas: May 15th, 2019, The Current at Bahamar

On tonight’s Blank Canvas our host Amanda Coulson (NAGB Executive Director) is in the studio with (right to left) John Cox, Creative Art Director; Angelika Wallace-Whitfield, Curatorial Manager; and Natascha Vazquez, Programming Manager from The Current Gallery and Art Center at Bahamar. They discuss upcoming events at The Current and the overall vision of the operation to actively promote Bahamian art to both a local and international audience.

The Current Gallery and Art Center is a hub for compelling Bahamian artistic experiences. It recognises and supports a strong creative community through captivating exhibitions, workshops and lectures, artist residences and partnerships with local collectors. Understanding the importance and need for artists to receive feedback about their work, The Current is bringing back “Open Critique” this Thursday at 6 p.m. and further building on creating opportunities for artists to think more critically about their practise through the “Small Works” exhibition, which opens on Friday, May 24th, 2019, 6:30p.m.-10 p.m.
