Blank Canvas: April 21st, 2021 featuring April Bey, Margot Bethel and Tiffany Smith

On this week’s Blank canvas, we meet artists from the new exhibition at the NAGB’s “Floating Rib”, curated by Natalie Willis. This exhibition is a look at the experience and practice of Black women of The Bahamas working at home or in the diaspora, exploring roots, bodies and belonging, homecomings and goings.

We meet three of the contributing artists – April Bey, Margot Bethel and Tiffany Smith – to discuss their works and issues that cover topics such as what it means to be biracial, in-betweenness and the problematics of nationalism.

“Blank Canvas” airs each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM.
