On tonight’s ” NAGB’s Blank Canvas,” Executive Director of the NAGB, Amanda Coulson, delves into Seascape Poetics with curators Bettina Pérez Martínez and Simone Cambridge. Special guests artists Edrin Symonette and Nadia Huggins discuss how their practices approach issues of identity, climate change, and tidalectics.
Martínez is a Puerto Rican curator, art historian and researcher based in Montréal, Canada, and is the curator for “Seascape Poetics”; Cambridge, the co-curator, is a Bahamian art historian and writer, focusing on issues of transatlantic slavery, Caribbean identity, postcolonialism and race in visual culture. Symonette is a Bahamian artist/art teacher living on the island of Eleuthera and Huggins is a self-taught artist based in St Vincent & the Grenadines.
