On this week’s “Blank Canvas,” your host Amanda Coulson meets with three more artists from the current exhibition “Floating Rib” curated by NAGB’s Associate Curator, Natalie Willis. Kendra Frorup, a Bahamian artist, resides in Florida, where she teaches at the University of Tampa. Here, she taught both the younger artists, Averia Wright and Jodi Minnis. The three speak about their relationship, matrilineal knowledge sharing and discuss all of their artworks in the current show and how they approach the notions of Black Caribbean womanhood, its tropes and stereotypes.
“Blank Canvas” airs each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM.
