Inherit the Earth

Inherit the Earth is a solo exhibition by Lynn Parotti that examines the profound impact humans have on the planet. Over her decades-long career, Parotti has explored the increasingly fragile and troubled ecologies we inhabit—realities that resonate deeply in The Bahamas. Her vibrant, immersive environments are painted with brutal honesty, featuring captivating blues often interrupted by luminous reds and yellows that evoke industrial pollutants.

Parotti’s work immerses us in the phenomenology of the environment rather than just the representation of it. In this way, the work renders the sentience of the natural world as we know it, deepening our understanding of environmental degradation.
