Four Talks: Intergenerational Trauma, Healing, and the Cultural Imaginary Part 1

February 1, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The NAGB is pleased to present a new exhibition talk series in collaboration with writer Helen Klonaris, entitled “Four Talks: Intergenerational Trauma, Healing, and the Cultural Imaginary.”

In the first talk, “The People Could Imagine”, Klonaris will be speaking about the possibilities that wonder tales (aka folk and fairy tales) and fantasy has historically provided communities and cultures globally and what they can continue to provide us as we imagine a way forward out of the traumas generated by cycles of war and colonization globally and regionally.

Four Talks: Intergenerational Trauma, Healing, and the Cultural Imaginary” is designed to be a conversation among creatives – writers, artists, and healing practitioners – about how we understand the relationships between intergenerational trauma and the cultural imaginary and envision the possibilities of healing intergenerational traumas, and the impact this may have/is having on the cultural imaginary.
