Fabric Printing Workshop brings crowd to NAGB: NAGB Kicks off Fall Programming

As a part of The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas’ monthly programming, the “Fabric Printing Workshop” with Joiri Minaya, the first workshop for the fall season, was held on Saturday, October 14th on the Gallery’s grounds. Led by Double Dutch artist Joiri Minaya, a diverse group of 19 participants were introduced to the basics of block printing then invited to try out their designs on fabric.

The painting workshop series at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB), starting today, November 26, is just another side of our range of programming here. We have talks and openings and all the things often associated with a National Gallery, but we also offer more practical, tangible knowledge that we pass on and other learning opportunities and experiences that we expose our local public to.

Review: Two Workshops, One Day, Two Stars!

This past Saturday the NAGB was a busy and bustling place! From 10 AM to 4 PM, the Education department hosted a very successful teachers workshop, complete with an in depth tour of the gallery grounds, a hands-on abstract workshop with Toby Lunn, exhibition tour, finally ended with a round table discussion on strengthening the relationship between the NAGB and teachers. From 10 AM to 1 PM, the Curatorial department hosted an abstract painting workshop with Toby Lunn and we were even fortunate enough to have Kendal Hanna himself come and interact with workshop members.
