Jodi Minnis (far right) is a practising artist and curator, and selected the artists in the exhibition “In 2020,” opening tomorrow night at Hillside House on Cumberland Street from 6-9 p.m. Part of a regular series of shows entitled 4/5, where she gathers young local practitioners, the show sees the participation of (in alphabetical order) Piaget Moss, Matthew Rahming, Edrin Symonette, Andrew Weech and Averia Wright (second from right) who also joins us in the studio to discuss her artwork.
Spurgeonique Morley and Nowé Harris-Smith, (far left and second from left) who are both art teachers in the public school system as well as practising artists, are meanwhile in an exhibition opening the following night at Doongalik Studios on Village Road, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., entitled “Identity,” featuring self-portraiture in a variety of media.
