Richardo Barrett, Assitant Curator

Richardo Barrett got his start in visual arts at CR Walker Senior High School. He participated in the 2006 FINCO Summer Arts Workshop, winning first place in painting and drawing. He pursued studies in architecture at the College of The Bahamas, later switching to art. He completed an associate degree in art in 2012. Richardo has exhibited locally; his work was recognized in the 2008 Central Bank Art Competition and Exhibition, in which he received honourable mention. He was a junior resident at Popopstudios and won the inaugural Antonius Roberts Award in 2011. Richardo was a project coordinator in The Current, the former art team at Baha Mar. 

Richardo is an assistant curator at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas; he is responsible for maintaining and archiving the National Collection; planning and installing exhibitions and documenting Bahamian art.
