Tonight we re-air a “ Blank Canvas” show from a little over one year ago when the NAGB invited art critic and writer Seph Rodney to give a lecture as part of the ACE Series (Art, Culture, Education) on the importance of his practise in a talk entitled “What Art Criticism Does.” The talk can be viewed on our Vimeo page.
After his trip to The Bahamas, Rodney also reviewed the ninth national exhibition in the widely read journal Hyperallergic.
You can read the review “An Exhibition in The Bahamas crosses boundaries and Borders”—which covered local artists and took them global—right here
Rodney was recently announced as one of the winners of the Rabkin Art Journalism Prize 2020, which recognises outstanding contributions by art critics who inform the public through their writing on contemporary art. The NAGB remains committed to bringing Bahamian artists to the attention of the world’s most important writers and curators.
Blank Canvas airs each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Guardian Talk Radio 96.9FM.
