On this week’s “NAGB’s Blank Canvas”, we meet three Bahamian women working in is the creative industry who all currently have work on display in the TERN Concept Store, a space conceived to support Bahamian design. Rhojai Burrows is a ceramicist who studied at the then-College, now University of The Bahamas and speaks to returning to her practice after a hiatus and the increased appreciation for ceramic arts. Apryl Burrows (no relation) is a fashion designer who recently opened the store “The Curated Closet” on Shirley Street and has created a special line for TERN. We also speak with Kathy Hamilton, a fashion designer with a cottage business, Kathy’s of Nassau. Bot of these fashion designers are also instructors at BTVI and discuss the opportunities for young creatives at the institution.
