NAGB hosts Mask Making Workshop at Gambier Primary

The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is looking forward to its next outreach initiative – a workshop at Gambier Primary. The workshop is part of the school’s efforts to raise funds for a covering for its assembly area. It will be held at the Gambier Primary Fundraising Fair on May 21, and all members of the public are encouraged to support.

Allan Wallace’s ‘Let There Be Order’ is the August Art Work of the Month

This month, the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) had the pleasure of a visit by renowned Bahamian artist Max Taylor. Called one of the country’s foremost ‘master artists’, multimedia artist Taylor has been an invaluable member of the country’s visual arts community for decades. During that time, he has produced exquisite prints, paintings and ceramic works, many of which are on display at the NAGB and for sale in its Mixed Media gift shop.

The National Art Gallery welcomes the public to its summer events

The National Art Gallery Mixed Media Art Summer Camp kicks off its first session bright and early on Monday morning. Looking forward to a jam-packed three weeks, the NAGB team will be exposing campers ages five to 15 to at least three different art forms over the course of each three-week session. For those who missed the chance to register for the first session, space is still available for the second session, which runs July 13 to 31. Fourth Annual AAA – 2013

The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) is hosting its upcoming annual All-Star Amateur Artists (AAA) presented by the NAGB Education Department.The AAA was designed to bring together emerging and amateur artists to display their work in a professional museum setting. The Gallery hopes this opportunity will encourage these artists to develop their skill and study within the arts.

Review: Two Workshops, One Day, Two Stars!

This past Saturday the NAGB was a busy and bustling place! From 10 AM to 4 PM, the Education department hosted a very successful teachers workshop, complete with an in depth tour of the gallery grounds, a hands-on abstract workshop with Toby Lunn, exhibition tour, finally ended with a round table discussion on strengthening the relationship between the NAGB and teachers. From 10 AM to 1 PM, the Curatorial department hosted an abstract painting workshop with Toby Lunn and we were even fortunate enough to have Kendal Hanna himself come and interact with workshop members.
