The NAGB is looking for volunteers to join our docent programme! Docents are incredibly important as they support museum staff by providing tours to visitors, guiding them through our dynamic exhibitions and promoting a greater appreciation of the gallery’s collection of Bahamian art.

This fall, The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas will officially launch its volunteer docent programme, which has been formulated to give arts enthusiasts in the Nassau community another avenue to contribute to the continued growth of the NAGB, by sharing their knowledge and experience with the public through guided tours of our permanent and temporary exhibitions. Docents are an imperative part of a successful museum’s structure as they support staff by providing tours to visitors, enhancing their experience and promoting a greater appreciation of the NAGB’s collection of Bahamian art and an understanding of the role the institution plays locally and nationally.
The NAGB is accepting volunteer applications for our Mixed Media Summer Camp. If you would like to be a part of an enthusiastic, creative team this summer, send us your application by June 1st!
The NAGB is asking for volunteers for another 2-day intensive of planting and clearing in order to get closer to the vision of the Bahamian Sculpture Garden on the property adjacent to Villa Doyle (the NAGB’s building).
Over the last weekend, the Sculpture Garden at the NAGB began to take shape, thanks to the involvement of the wider local community and a group of passionate volunteers. Read the report from NAGB Director, Amanda Coulson here.
The NAGB is asking for anybody who wishes to make a mark in the neighbourhood to have a hand in the creating of a community park, to come out and get involved!! The cleanup will be taking place over the weekend of April 23rd and 24, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 3 pm daily.
The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas Education Department has put out a call for volunteers for our Art Summer Camp! This is a great opportunity for students needing community service or interns looking for art education experience.
