Project Space

A space for ideas in progress—where artists experiment, take risks, and explore what’s next for Bahamian art.

The Project Space is as an intimate gallery space for experimentation, reflection, and the creative risks that fall outside an artist’s usual practice. For many emerging artists, it’s the first time their work is shown within an institution. For established artists, it’s a space to work through brave new ideas.

We prioritise projects that make thoughtful use of space and resources, favouring ambitious concepts with a focused footprint. The Project Space is a hub for work that challenges and imagines what could be next for Bahamian art. In a cultural landscape that constantly negotiates tradition and progress, this space holds room for both—inviting artists to think critically and push their practice further.

Vision for the space

The goal of the Project Space is simple: to be a starting point, a springboard, and a space of possibility. Not all projects presented here are refined, nor should they be. This is where ideas meet innovation and where artists are reminded that their voices can make a big impact, even in a small space.

We see this space as a vision of what’s next in Bahamian art—not by following trends, but by staying close to the untapped, the real, and the in-progress. It’s a place where limited resources meets limitless imagination, and where the reach of the work extends far beyond the walls.
